Romitello

Romitello launches at 934 m near Borgetto in Sicily, a thermal and soaring site built around ridge-soaring the cliff line south of the Strada Statale 186 coastal road. To reach the take-off, pilots drive up into Romitello village and continue through it along Via Romitello up to the picnic area near launch. The site works with wind from the west or north-west, powering the cliff-line lift that makes the soaring here consistent on the right days. Landing is to the north-east, near the Strada Provinciale 135 north-east of Borgetto, giving pilots a clear directional reference for planning the approach from the ridge.
