Serrone

Serrone sits in Lazio's Ernici mountains and has serious cross-country pedigree: pilots have logged hundreds of flights over 150 km from here, typically working the ridge southeast toward Sora before hopping east onto the range's back side. The take-off is a large, easy grassy field, though it's a proper trek to reach — about 5 km on foot following the hiking signs toward Monte Scalambra, or 7.5 km by road if shuttling gear separately from the landing field. Getting to the area from Rome means taking the GRA to the A1/E45 toll road toward Naples, exiting at Colleferro, then following signs through Paliano and Forma to Serrone — GPS navigation is strongly recommended on the last stretch. Local shuttle transport up to launch is available. Down below, the landing is huge and forgiving, workable even for less experienced pilots, and the farmers whose fields it uses are known for being welcoming to flyers.
