Cantil de las Águilas launches from 2,603 m near León in Guanajuato, Mexico, working south, southwest and west wind for thermic, soaring, cross-country, hike-and-fly and flatland flying alike — a genuinely versatile site. The takeoff is a well-kept green-grass ramp that handles one wing at a time, with enough room to top-land as well, oriented southwest. It sits on land belonging to a hotel along the route, and getting there is easy: from León, the road toward San Felipe follows a marked turnoff to reach it, and the whole drive takes about 40 minutes in pretty much any car. The site doubles as a relaxed getaway — pilots who want to stay for a few unhurried days can do so right where they fly. Wind and conditions favor November through March as the core season, though the rainy months from June to September can also deliver genuinely good flying on the right day, just less predictably. Landing is generous, with plenty of open fields below launch, and the ramp itself is suitable for top-landing too if conditions allow.
