Where it is

ThermalsSoaring

Alassio – Monte Pisciavino is a launch on the Ligurian coast in Italy, at around 597 metres, flyable from east, southeast or south and good for both thermals and ridge soaring, with real cross-country potential reaching toward Laigueglia on a good day. Getting to launch is the hard part: the direct road needs a real 4x4 over genuinely rough terrain, and the alternative is parking lower down and walking about 20 minutes up — though once there, the takeoff area itself is wide and forgiving. Two airspace and access rules matter here. Albenga's controlled airspace sits nearby, so it needs watching during the flight, not just at launch. And landing on the beach on the east side is off-limits from the 1st of May to the 1st of October — outside that window, it's still worth checking the beach in person, since this is a busy tourist coastline and it fills up on sunny days even in spring and autumn, including around holidays like Easter and Italy's 25 April public holiday.
