La Caletta – Siniscola launches from Monte Longu on Sardinia's north-east coast, in Nuoro province, a low seaside hill about 500 m back from the water with a 200 m top-to-bottom height range. The site is a classic coastal soaring spot: pilots ridge-soar the hill facing the sea on a south-facing take-off, and locals rate the evening session as especially good, when the sea breeze settles into a clean, workable flow along the coast. Access is on foot, following the signs from La Caletta beach up toward Monte Longu. The take-off ground is a little rough underfoot rather than a manicured ramp, so it rewards a careful, deliberate launch rather than a running start. Landing options are flexible: pilots can put down in the fields below the hill, or land on the beach itself if the flight and wind allow reaching it. With only a south wind component needed and a short, low-commitment height range, this is an approachable coastal soaring lap rather than a big mountain flight, well suited to an evening session when conditions along this stretch of coast come together.
